Blue Water Bay Village
Blue Water Bay Village is a small and friendly community, located in the pleasant village of Kapparis on the Protaras coastline, absolutely superb for family holidays. There are several restaurants, pubs, supermarkets and other amenities, just a few metres away. For those who want to explore, Paralimni and Protaras are just 5 minute drive each and lively Ayia Napa is 10 minutes drive away. Sandy beaches, crystal clear water and a fun and safe family atmosphere, perfect ingredients for a memorable holiday. The main street in Blue Water Bay Village (shown here) runs from the main road, Kapparis Avenue, right down to the coast. A distance of just a few hundred metres. Sun Kiss Villas lie in a small cul-de-sac near to the bottom of this street, giving a good level of privacy.

Paralimni Town Square
A few minutes inland is the bustling town of Paralimini with its beautiful square and main church. The square is a hive of activity with both trendy cafes and traditional Cypriot Tavernas where the locals spend the warm afternoons socializing over a Cyprus coffee. There are lots of shops, if you prefer satisfying your need for retail therapy, or you can just relax in the square and take in the atmosphere.

Church dedicated to Virgin Mary
"Beautifully constructed modern day churches overlook the old and crumbling architecture of a much older church that houses fading mosaics. Have a drink of coffee in a modern cafe whilst listening to the afternoon church service and the harmonious church bells as they ring out across the old square and warm smiles will greet you everywhere." St. George is the patron Saint of Paralimni and the two main churches in Paralimni are dedicated to him. They are both situated in the central square of Paralimni, next to each other, making an interesting contrast. The old one was built back in the 19th century and the new one, which is now the main church of the community, was built in 1965. The centre of Paralimni is probably unique in the whole world, as there are three churches, of three different periods of construction, next to each other, the third one which was built 700 years ago and is now a museum.

Sunset at Ayia Napa
This area of Cyprus offers endless sandy beaches, secluded coves, wide bays and, of course, the crystal clear Mediterranean waters. The best known beach is perhaps 'Fig Tree Bay', which is a European 'Blue Flag' beach at Protaras, and much of the reason for the development of this busy resort. The beach has numerous water-sports facilities and cafes but is much quieter out of season. One of our personal favourites is Konnos beach, a 15 to 20 minute drive. A delightful beach in a peaceful and tranquil setting.

Troodos
There is plenty to keep you busy when you want a change from soaking up the sun. The larger beaches (and some of the smaller ones) offer water sports of every description. From water-skiing, parascending, wind-surfing and jet-skiing right through to scuba diving and big game fishing. There is also a large water park near to Makronissos beach on the outskirts of Ayia Napa. Slightly less energetic activities can be found, for example, in the centre of Ayia Napa, where one can visit the 15th century Venetian monastery, or drive into Larnaca for shopping for hand made ceramics in the narrow streets of the old part of town. Whilst there, one can visit the beautiful church of St Lazarus, who became the first bishop of Larnaca, and which contains his tomb. A little further afield is Limassol with its surrounding vineyards and a wine festival in September. Inland from Limassol lies the impressive Troodos mountain range with its numerous walks in scented pine forests in summer, and winter sports and skiing in winter. Here there are several old painted churches, superb examples of Byzantine art, designated as UNESCO World Heritage sites. The Troodos area is a wonderful contrast to the hot and dry coastal regions. A holiday in Cyprus may not be complete without a visit to Nicosia, the only divided capital city in the world. The old centre area of Nicosia has lots of narrow streets surrounded by parts of Venetian wall dating back to 1300AD. There is also a large archaeological museum.
